Updated:
1. Give a bundle
/give @s minecraft:bundle
The same command works on Java and Bedrock. See the give command.
2. Colored bundles
/give @s minecraft:red_bundle
/give @s minecraft:light_blue_bundle
All 16 dye colors work as color_bundle: white, orange, magenta, light_blue, yellow, lime, pink, gray, light_gray, cyan, purple, blue, brown, green, red and black.
3. A bundle with items inside (Java)
/give @s minecraft:bundle[bundle_contents=[{id:"minecraft:diamond",count:16},{id:"minecraft:golden_apple",count:8}]]
List each stack as {id:…,count:…}. Handy for a starter kit.
4. How much fits
A bundle holds 64 of an item that stacks to 64. An ender pearl counts as 4 and an unstackable item such as a sword fills the whole bundle. Keep command contents inside that limit.
5. Older versions
On Java 1.20.5 to 1.21.1 bundles are experimental: enable the Bundle experiment when you create the world. Bedrock has bundles from 1.21.40 but cannot give them pre-filled.
6. Give a filled bundle once per player
give @a[tag=!gotkit] minecraft:bundle[bundle_contents=[{id:"minecraft:bread",count:16},{id:"minecraft:torch",count:32}]]
tag @a add gotkit
Put these in a repeating block and a chain block, and only new players get the bundle. The tag stops a second copy. For a bigger kit see the starter kit command.
7. Check a held bundle with a command (Java)
/data get entity @s SelectedItem.components."minecraft:bundle_contents"
The chat lists the IDs and counts inside the bundle in your main hand. Use it to test a command before you hand bundles out. No output means the bundle is empty.
Troubleshooting
- Unknown item: the version is too old.
- Empty bundle: check the
[ ]around the list and the spelling ofcount. - Need more space: use a shulker box with items.
