Updated:
1. Summon with a size (Java)
/summon slime ~ ~ ~5 {Size:10}
Natural slimes use Size 0, 1 and 3.
| Size | Approx. width |
|---|---|
| 0 | 0.5 blocks |
| 3 | 2 blocks |
| 10 | 5.7 blocks |
| 20 | 11 blocks |
2. Giant magma cube
/summon magma_cube ~ ~ ~5 {Size:10}
Magma cubes use the same Size tag. They are immune to fire and lava, so a giant one makes a good Nether boss. Both slimes and magma cubes deal more damage and have more health as Size grows.
3. Avoid splitting
/kill @e[type=slime]
Big slimes split when killed normally; /kill removes them without splitting. See the kill command.
4. Still giant slime
/summon slime ~ ~ ~5 {Size:15,NoAI:1b,PersistenceRequired:1b}
See the NoAI command.
5. Resize a placed slime
/data merge entity @e[type=slime,limit=1,sort=nearest] {Size:5}
6. Where slimes spawn naturally
Slimes spawn below Y 40 in slime chunks, which depend on the world seed, and on the surface of swamps at night, most often under a full moon. Summoned slimes ignore these rules, which helps when testing a slime farm.
7. Giant versions of other mobs (Java)
/summon zombie ~ ~ ~5
/attribute @e[type=minecraft:zombie,limit=1,sort=nearest] minecraft:scale base set 3
Only slimes and magma cubes have Size. Other mobs use the scale attribute from 1.20.5; write minecraft:generic.scale on 1.21.1 and older. See the attribute command.
Troubleshooting
- Slime vanishes: Peaceful removes hostile mobs.
- Lag: huge slimes split into many; keep Size around 10.
- Bedrock: Size cannot be set by command.
