Syntax

/place structure <structure> [pos]
/place structure minecraft:village_plains
/place structure minecraft:village_plains ~ ~ ~50

Without a position it generates around you. Structures that follow the ground, like villages, adjust their height automatically. A building can bury you if it appears where you stand, so a position a little away is safer.

Common structure IDs

IDStructure
village_plains, village_desert, village_snowyVillages (also savanna and taiga)
pillager_outpostPillager outpost
desert_pyramid, jungle_pyramidDesert and jungle temples
igloo, swamp_hutIgloo and witch hut
shipwreck, ruined_portalShipwreck and ruined portal
ancient_city, trial_chambersAncient city and trial chambers (1.21+)
mansion, monumentWoodland mansion and ocean monument (very large)
fortress, bastion_remnant, end_cityNether fortress, bastion and end city

The minecraft: prefix is optional, and Tab shows every ID. To find where one already is, use /locate.

Grow a tree or huge mushroom (/place feature)

/place feature minecraft:cherry ~ ~ ~3
/place feature minecraft:fancy_oak ~ ~ ~3
/place feature minecraft:huge_red_mushroom ~ ~ ~3

Features are natural pieces smaller than structures, such as trees and ore blobs. Trees can fail unless they stand on grass or dirt.

Before you generate

Place a saved build (/place template)

/place template minecraft:mybuild ~ ~ ~

This places a build saved with a structure block, with optional rotation and mirroring. To simply copy a build elsewhere, /clone is easier.

Bedrock Edition

Whether /place exists on Bedrock depends on the version: if it is not suggested while you type, your version does not have it. Bedrock can also save builds with a structure block or /structure save and place them with /structure load.
