Choose an ID that matches the command
Item and block registries overlap, but they are not identical. minecraft:stone can be used as an item ID in /give and as a block ID in /setblock. A sword is an item, not a placeable block. Filtering by item or block before copying an ID avoids a common error.
- Enter part of the English identifier, such as
diamond, or a translated item name. - Select Items, Blocks or Spawn eggs depending on whether the final command is Give, Fill or an egg Give command.
- Open the corresponding generator, choose your edition and version, and test a plain item or block before adding custom data.
The displayed English identifier is not necessarily available in every older release. If a result is rejected in Minecraft, confirm the game version and check that the object existed in that release. This search tool does not validate a command by launching your game.
